Acrylic Encased Badge Mix Up

Attention All EPA members:

Recently the Edmonton Police Association undertook the massive project of getting your badges encased in acrylic.

Members turned in their badges, putting them into individual bags marked with their Reg #s and names to ensure each member got their respective badge back. This was done because some of the badges were the old Edmonton Police Dept. badges, some were newer Edmonton Police Service badges, and some had special inscriptions or markings on them. We heard loud and clear that your badges were of great sentimental value and that you wanted your own badge back. We articulated this sentiment to the vendor very clearly.

Unfortunately, during the encasement process, some badges were mixed up and some members have advised the EPA that they did not get their own badges back. Some of these mix ups were obvious at first glance while some members had to actually look at the backs of their badges in the encasement to look for markings on the back of the badge. As an obvious example, one member submitted an old Edmonton Police Dept. badge and got back an Edmonton Police Service Badge.

The EPA is petitioning all members to have a look at the encased badges when when getting them back. If you got the wrong type of badge back or you have someone else’s badge with a personalized enscription, please contact the EPA immediately so we can get these badges back and sort out the mix ups. Remember that these badges are very meaningful to members, so we want to make ammends and sort out the issues ASAP.

Thank you,
